Our Story
Rolled was founded in Manchester by proud Aussies and sushi fanatics Adam and JJ Miller.
Their life-long love affair with sushi was well nourished in the cultural melting pot of Melbourne. Sushi was abundantly available and enjoyed by the brothers multiple times a week.
The humble handroll is loved in Australia for being an easy to grab, fresh and healthy snack or lunch/dinner option.
However, upon arriving in Tokyo and spending many months living there, Adam was shocked to learn that sushi handrolls didn’t exist in Japan and were in-fact an Aussie innovation.
He also discovered that most Aussies aren’t even aware this is a home-grown phenomenon!
In 2021, Adam’s career in hospitality brought him over to the UK, where his handroll cravings became even stronger. Meanwhile, JJ’s consumption of handrolls went from a weekly to a daily habit.
Adam’s belief, that the UK simply had to experience the convenience and satisfaction of a handroll, was unshakable.
Finally, enough was enough. In 2024 Adam left his job and JJ moved to Manchester to pursue the goal of introducing the UK to their beloved sushi handrolls.
They assembled a team of local hospo heroes and passionate sushi lovers to form Rolled, the UK’s first Aussie-style sushi brand.
Featuring a blend of Aussie flavour and fresh local ingredients, Rolled offers a carefully crafted menu for the UK market to experience the very best handrolls.
Rolled’s first store opened at the Trafford Centre in August 2024, and was soon followed by a second in the Arndale Centre, and St. Paul’s in London. With the growing demand for high-quality, takeaway sushi (served with trademark Aussie charm), more Rolled stores will be rolling out across the UK.
